Dr. You Ju Lee and Dr Youngmi Kim In Concert April 20, 2019!

Join us this Saturday, April 20, at 3:00 PM for a free concert of select works of Franz Liszt featuring soprano Dr Youngmi Kim of Georgia College in Milledgeville and pianist Dr You Ju Lee of Toccoa Falls College.

South Korean soprano Dr Youngmi Kim received her education at the College-Conservatory of Music at University of Cincinnati (DMA and MM) and Ewha Womans University (BM) in Korea.  Dr Kim is the recipient of numerous accolades including first prize at the William C Byrd Young Artist Competition, the Emilie Dieterle Award, The Richard Westenberg Award for 18th-Century Stylistic Interpretation and others.

Pianist Dr You Ju Lee received her DMA degree from the University of Georgia under Dr Richard Zimdars.  She studied at City University London, Eastman School of Music and Manhattan School of Music.  Dr Lee is an accomplished pianist who has won numerous awards and performed recitals in Europe, Asia, and the US.  Dr Lee was awarded the ACME (Artists, Composers, Musicologists and Educators) Mu Phi Epsilon International, honoring a distinguished national or international musical career.

Pianist Dr. Elena Dorozhkina In Concert - April 23, 2019!

Steinway Piano Galleries is pleased to annouce a special recital by pianist Dr. Elena Dorozhkina in the Barbara Kirby Recital Hall in Alpharetta, GA.

Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 5:30 PM

Dr. Dorozhkina graduated from the renowned Saint-Petersburg State Music Conservatory, Russia, with degrees in piano performance, collaborative piano, and piano pedagogy, and earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas, USA. She has performed solo and collaborative recitals in concert halls throughout the United States, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, and Ukraine. Elena won prizes in a number of International Piano Competitions in the US and abroad.

Dr. Dorozhkina is a director of the Music Preparatory School at Clayton State University, and also serves as a President of the Atlanta Music Teachers Association along with being a Chair of Atlanta Piano Festival.  With over twenty years of teaching experience, Elena teaches private and group piano lessons at the Music Preparatory School, Atlanta International School, and her home studio in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Dorozhkina's recital program will include pieces by Russian composers such as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Sergey Rachmaninov. The concert is free but seating is limited, so reserve your space now. Or call 770-777-1300 for more information.

 

Hear Us: Clarissa Bevilacqua In Concert - May 6, 2019

The series shines a light on the true story of a violin prodigy, world-class cellist, and gifted pianist as they pursue their dream of becoming acclaimed classical soloists. Filmed on location in Italy, Germany, and the US, this talented trio of young musicians come together against all odds, as they are given the opportunity to play in one of Europe’s preeminent concert halls.

This special evening includes a live performance by young violinist Clarissa Bevilacqua, one of the stars of the reality series Hear Us. Following Bevilacqua's performance, together with Steinway Artist Terry Lowry, the audience will be treated to a special screening of Hear Us.

2019 Steinway Junior Piano Competition Winner's Recital - Sun April 28, 2019

The Steinway Jr Piano Competition, held at our Alpharetta Showroom, is an extension of our unwavering commitment to the pursuit of superior artistic expression through piano performance. 

A special Winner's Recital and Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 28 at 1:30 pm in the Barbara Kirby Recital Hall in Alpharetta, GA. The Winner's Recital and Awards Ceremony is free, but seating is limited so reserve your space now.

Regular Events:

STUDENT RECITALS: Teachers hold recitals on average twice a year. The Alpharetta location has a beautiful 90+-seat recital/concert hall. 

PIANO FESTIVALS: Many of our teachers participate in annual festivals sponsored by the MTNA and the National Federation of Music Clubs.

GUILD AUDITIONS AND EXAMINATIONS:  Many teachers provide students with opportunities for independent assessment of their skills including Guild Auditions and Associated Board exams.
