It's time for pianists ages 18 and under to submit their application for the 2019 Steinway Junior Piano Competition.  Applications will be accepted from January 15. 2019 until April 1, 2019.  Apply by clicking here:
The Competition will be held on Saturday April 6 and Saturday April 13, 2019 at the Steinway Piano Gallery in Alpharetta, GA.  Three divisions will compete: Division I Ages 9 and under; Division II Ages 10-13; and Division III Ages 14-18.  First place prizes are: $400 for Division I; $700 for Division II; $1000 Division III. 
Our tentative plans are to have Divisions 1 and 2 compete on April 6, and Division 3 on April 13.  However, we cannot finalize this until we see how many applicants we have in each division.  The cut off for applications is April 1, and we expect to make a decision about the schedule before then.

Pianist Dr. Elena Dorozhkina In Concert!

Steinway Piano Galleries is pleased to annouce a special recital by pianist Dr. Elena Dorozhkina in the Barbara Kirby Recital Hall in Alpharetta, GA.

Dr. Dorozhkina graduated from the renowned Saint-Petersburg State Music Conservatory, Russia, with degrees in piano performance, collaborative piano, and piano pedagogy, and earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of North Texas, USA. She has performed solo and collaborative recitals in concert halls throughout the United States, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, and Ukraine. Elena won prizes in a number of International Piano Competitions in the US and abroad.

Dr. Dorozhkina is a director of the Music Preparatory School at Clayton State University, and also serves as a President of the Atlanta Music Teachers Association along with being a Chair of Atlanta Piano Festival.  With over twenty years of teaching experience, Elena teaches private and group piano lessons at the Music Preparatory School, Atlanta International School, and her home studio in Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Dorozhkina's recital program will include pieces by Russian composers such as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Sergey Rachmaninov. The concert is free but seating is limited, so reserve your space now. Or call 770-777-1300 for more information.

STUDENT RECITALS: Teachers hold recitals on average twice a year. The Alpharetta location has a beautiful 90+-seat recital/concert hall. 

PIANO FESTIVALS: Many of our teachers participate in annual festivals sponsored by the MTNA and the National Federation of Music Clubs.

GUILD AUDITIONS AND EXAMINATIONS:  Many teachers provide students with opportunities for independent assessment of their skills including Guild Auditions and Associated Board exams.
